Roseneath Writers Circle invites Poets of any age, from novice to expert, to enter your work in our 1st Poetry Contest. 

All entries Win a Free Ride on the Carousel and will have their poem displayed during the Roseneath Fair (October 4-6 2024)  

Your original poem about the Carousel or the Agricultural Fair must be received by Sat Sept 21.

Roseneath Carousel

Sixteen panels reflect 

Northumberland County

Setting a backdrop

For forty 

Painted basswood horses

That sit

Three abreast

On a wooden platform

Balanced well

As the small motor

Whirs 

Into life

Making the horses prance

For their riders

They circle the panels

Creating scenarios

Usually seen 

In old movies

Inviting 

Memories

To last

Beyond 

The edges of time
